SAT Prep
SAT Prep
The role of standardized testing in college admissions has undergone significant changes over the past five years. With many colleges and universities adopting test-optional or test-blind policies, there is no uniform standard for how SAT scores are evaluated in admissions decisions. This evolving landscape presents a challenge for students as they consider whether preparing for and taking the SAT is the right choice for them.
Based on each student’s college application list and academic profile, they receive individualized advice on whether taking the SAT would enhance their applications. This ensures that students understand the potential impact of their scores at the institutions they are applying to.
HTH students can take full-length practice tests under timed conditions -- essential skills to ready students for the official exam. A proctored practice exam helps students build testing endurance and provide a real-time snapshot of their test performance and identify areas for improvement well before they take the SAT and/or ACT.
HTH students receive a comprehensive SAT prep course at a discounted rate (group and individual test prep options). This program, has a proven track record of success. On average, students who participate in a Rev Prep course see a 150-point increase in their test scores.
High Tech High acknowledges that while standardized testing no longer plays the dominant role in college admissions that it once did, it remains a key factor for certain colleges and scholarship programs. For students applying to institutions where SAT/ACT scores are still considered, we ensure they have access to the resources, guidance, and preparation needed to be competitive across all aspects of their applications. By offering a well-rounded support system, we empower our students to make informed choices and achieve success on their path to higher education.
